As a Temporary Editor, you'll play a key role in refining manuscripts, ensuring editorial excellence, and maintaining the trusted voice of one of the world's leading running brands.

**Key Responsibilities (What You Are Doing)**
* Maintain the distinctive Runner's World voice and editorial standards throughout assigned manuscripts.
* Implement thoughtful developmental edits and precise line edits to strengthen clarity, structure, and reader engagement.
* Review copy edits, respond to editorial queries, and resolve inconsistencies to ensure high-quality final manuscripts.
* Collaborate with editors and stakeholders to deliver polished content that aligns with editorial goals and brand standards.
* Manage multiple manuscripts, editorial review rounds, and competing priorities while meeting established deadlines.
* Ensure accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail across all assigned editorial projects.
* Contribute creative ideas that elevate content quality and enhance the reader experience.
**Qualifications (What We're Looking For)**
* 3+ years of editorial experience in book publishing, magazines, digital media, or a related content environment, or equivalent experience.
* Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with exceptional attention to detail.
* Experience performing developmental editing and line editing on long-form content.
* Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
* Creative thinker who brings fresh, innovative ideas while maintaining an established editorial voice.
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
* This is a remote, part-time position (20 hours per week).
The hourly rate for this role is **$75.00 per hour**. This position is not eligible for bonus or commission compensation. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
