'The Night of the Killing'

Owen Zabor, dir.-writer-prod. Grand Rapids, Michigan

The film can best be described as a fictional true-crime documentary. Every scene has been carefully written, but they will be performed as if they are occurring spontaneously, as in a traditional documentary. But the lead character, Irene Singer, is writing a book on the murders and is determined to discover the truth once and for all. Production states: "As mentioned before, many of the roles call for an actor to be "interviewed" in a single location with no other actors present. As we are working with a small crew we expect to be able to build the shooting schedule around an actor's flexibility, meaning that actors will not have to worry about blocking out large chunks of their summer to be available for shooting.
