Theatre Managing Director

We’re looking for a talented team player with an entrepreneurial spirit who loves the arts, has a solid business background, and will thrive upon the legacy of the Moving Arts theatre company. The Managing Director role is a part-time, hourly position, with potential for growth based upon overall revenue. In this role you will ● Be responsible for the overall financial operations of Moving Arts. This includes setting and meeting annual budgets, AR/AP, tax, compliance, bookkeeping, and contract management ● Ensure the smooth operation of the day-to-day business by working with producers, productions, event spaces, and rental companies ● Recruit, train, and manage volunteers and potential contractors ● Be responsible for all systems and technologies Moving Arts utilizes to manage the business ● Foster a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and clear, effective communication ● Plan and manage fund development events and programs ● Engage with the Board of Directors to create and carry out fundraising plans and meet financial development goals ● Direct and lead institutional fundraising with foundations, corporations, and government agencies ● Oversee communication with our donors and patrons The ideal candidate will have ● A bachelor’s degree in business or non-profit administration, or relevant experience ● Proven fundraising track record ● Experience managing a team of volunteers ● Strong project management experience and the ability to juggle multiple projects at a time ● A collaborative spirit especially as an expert in getting things done, all with a positive attitude ● The ability to inspire the company to achieve ambitious goals ● A personal passion and affinity for the arts and live theatre
