When they go to bar trivia with Patrick's friend, Jessie, they meet Elle, a successful writer who has natural... chemistry with Patrick, and serves as a foil to bring out Alyssa's insecurities. To impress her, Patrick lies, saying that Alyssa and him are still going to Montreal. This projects major themes are: lies vs reality; guilt and insecurity; the intimidating nature of the art world; creativity vs career; and the way we twist ourselves for love. This film will highlight nuanced, subtle performances and is inspired by the tension of Force Majeure, 12 Angry Men and Inglourious Basterds' bar scene. This is Timothy Leong's second short film in the Boston Area.
