He is extremely depressed, but has no way out of the situation. He is still very active in a wheelchair, and doesn't want the state of Idaho to put him in a nursing home and take his money and the company that he owns. So he chooses to stay in the situation at this moment.. It's a "live-in" position, and he needs someone that will be there long term that won't up and leave, and leave him in a lurch with no caregiver if your family decides to move. There isn't much to do with the man.
