Sofi, a Moscow-raised international film student shaped by secular Ashkenazi Jewish traditions, Russian and Cambridge schooling, and years in art programs, continues her exploration of belonging and intimacy in "What’s the Point?!?" (2026). A follow-up to her 2023 short Saving Home, the film shifts focus toward the complexities of female dynamics, a strained daughter-father relationship, and the uneasy pull between escape, mindfulness, and control. Guided by Syracuse University professors Rachel Hall and Guinevere Turner, the project delves into both literal and metaphorical spaces of surveillance, fear, and the stillness of Jazz’s internal struggle, created entirely on an outsourced production model.
