Primary Purpose and Essential Functions: The Department of Art, Media, Performance, and Design (AMPD) at the University of the Pacific invites applications for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor position in Directing, Acting, and Producing Across Media. This role is critical for developing future leaders in film, television, and digital media by offering foundational knowledge in directing, acting, and producing-skills essential for students planning careers in media production. The position will include teaching a variety of courses aimed at honing both technical and creative abilities across media formats, and will emphasize practical applications of acting, directing, and producing in areas such as live-action film, animated media, and transmedia storytelling.Courses to be taught include : • CORE 1 or CORE 2 (General Education) • THEA 073: Acting for the Camera • THEA 071: Fundamentals of Acting • MPRO 051: Introduction to Directing • MPRO 150: Transmedia and Producing • MPRO 137: Motion Capture • MPRO 185: Capstone Our department integrates within the College of the Pacific's distinctive liberal arts program, a historical hallmark of the university. • Ability to develop and teach a variety of courses within the MPRO curriculum.
